United Against Police Violence is an ad-hoc committee of community groups who are organizing a demonstration against the upcoming international conference of police executives in Vancouver in June, 2006. The police conference aims at bringing together high-level policing officials to discuss social control in “times of crisis.” High-ranking RCMP officials and city police executives from across Canada will discuss and share strategies with police executives from Paris, New Orleans, Seattle and other city departments who have recently been accused of systemic police violence.
