Power of Women: Our Reality in the DTES


The Power of Women Group - we are a group of women who live and access
services and whose community is the DTES neighourhood - are coming
together in an evening showcase of talks, poetry, skits and more to share
real truths about our life in the DTES with an emphasis on housing,
poverty, colonization, and violence against women.

Wednesday October 5, 2016
Dinner at 6 pm, Event at 6:30 pm
1803 East 1st Ave (just east of Commercial Drive)
unceded xʷməθkwəy̓əm, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh, and səlil̓wətaʔɬ territories, Vancouver

This event is by donation $0-20. All proceeds go to the DTES Power of
Women Group.

Accessibility info: Free event. Dinner served (thanks to Streams of
Justice for supporting this event). Kitchen’s entrance is wheelchair
accessible at street level. One washroom has a stall that can accommodate
a wheelchair.The washroom door opening is 86 cm, and the stall door is 61
cm.
