[WAM!Van] Warning! Founder of "Real Women Real Stories" has not paid female writers from his previous project

Hi there, I'm a founding member of WAM! Vancouver. I'd appreciate any
thoughts or advice on the below, but also wanted to just send out a warning
to everyone to not make the same mistake I did of working with Matan Uziel.

*Please keep the below information confidential for now, we haven't decided
whether to go to press yet. *Off-list, please let me know if you have any
feminist/media/lawyer contacts based in Israel.

Background:

A group of former writers for Glammonitor.com <http://glammonitor.com/> are
working on a strategy to pressure the founder of Glammonitor to pay the
amounts owed to us. Since around September 2015, he has not paid many of
his full-time staff (including editor in chief) and freelance contributors.
We had all signed contracts with Glammonitor.

Matan, who is based in Israel but had staff working full-time in New York,
fundraised for the publication on the basis of promoting respect for women
and supporting female writers. He's since either ignored writers' requests
for payment or lashed out against writers over email.

Now, Matan has started a new project, Real Women Real Stories, which some
people have called out for seeming problematic. It's described as "a unique
project curated by men with the goal of embracing women who are silent in
their pain but want to speak out."

I'd warn people against getting involved in this project, even if it seems
like the contracts he's worked up look legitimate.
