Hi Tami and Pat,

Thanks for your question. The workshop is based on material in my book, The Empowerment Manual, that addresses how groups that organize horizontally can communicate more effectively and address conflict in supportive ways. Attached is an article I wrote last year for Permaculture Design Magazine's issue on Decolonizing Permaculture, that will give you a sense of how I approach some of the issues you name. Earth Activist Training, the organization I direct, offers Diversity Scholarships for people of color working in environmental and social justice for our permaculture courses, so we are always aware of and exploring the issues you've mentioned, looking at how we create groups where we can truly welcome one another in the full complexity of our identities and gifts.
But bear in mind--it's a very short workshop! My hope, for a 3-4 hour workshop, is to provide a framework for thinking about power and conflict in groups, and some helpful tools and insights. And a fun, inspiring, energizing afternoon,
warmly,
Starhawk

She's very good about answering emails but please understand she gets hundreds of emails daily and also has very little free time while travelling. I feel she, better than I, can address your concerns, although I definitely vouch for her respect, understanding and integrity around the issues you ask about.
