[Wamvan] All Candidate Debate on Women's Rights

Dear WAM! Vancouver,

A number of groups and individuals are coming together to organize a
youth-focused event on women's rights in support of the national Up for
Debate campaign (www.upfordebate.ca). We want to host an all-candidate
debate focused on youth audience to hear what different parties are
planning to do to address violence against women and girls, economic
inequality and women's leadership.

We also have an ambitious goal of hosting the kind of event that would draw
'the unconverted', or those folks who normally wouldn't come to an event
like that. If you have been involved in any type of social justice
organizing before, you know that this is no small feat :)

Would you help us to make it happen?

The first planning meeting is taking place *next Tuesday, July 28th 6-8 pm
at Check Your Head office (#605-207 West Hastings St.*
*Vancouver, BC V6B 1H7)*. Please let me know if you are planning on
participating!
