I think I speak for everyone when I say THANK YOU to Jarrah, Natalie and Joanna for doing such a great job all these years. Organizing is an immense task and you three not only made it work with your busy schedules but you really got WAM!'s name and cause out in the community.

It has been so exciting and uplifting to see this kind of feminist work in Vancouver and I learned a lot from the discussions and events. It was a great way for feminists across the region to network and to learn to support one another. Thanks again to the three of you for everything and I look forward to the continued discussions!

Subject: [Wamvan] Volunteer Posting: WAM! Van Chapter Coordinator

Hi WAM-mers!

Well, after three years, both Natalie and Jarrah are going to be moving on to other work and taking a step back at WAM! Vancouver. We have put out a volunteer posting (below) and are hoping to spend time during August to ensure new coordinators are supported during the transition. Joanna will stay on and continue to provide long-distance support to the new organizers.

Although organizing for WAM! Van has presented occasional challenges, overall we've found it to be an immensely rewarding experience, allowing a lot of flexibility and autonomy within a clear mission and set of values. We've built networks with many activists and formed partnerships with great local organizations. We've been able to work with you to pull off training workshops like the recent Pitching Left event, to create tools to help mainstream media improve reporting of women in poiltics and sexual assault, promoted feminist-friendly theatre and movies, and had really fun times socializing with all you folks.

We'd encourage anyone who's interested in taking on a leadership role at WAM! to apply, and please help us spread the posting around to anyone else you know who might be interested.

All the best,

Jarrah, Natalie and Joanna
