Hi all,
My former employer, West Coast LEAF, does education on consent in
elementary and high schools through a workshop called No Means No. They
talk about the law around consent, sexual assault, power, gender
stereotypes, and recently have added a portion on online harassment,
sexting, etc. It's a pretty fantastic curriculum (yes, i am biased of
course) and WCL's Education Manager, Chrissie Arnold, is fabulous. They
train youth facilitators (age 18-24) to deliver the programs, which I think
is a great model. I'd definitely recommend reaching out to Chrissie if
folks are interested in pushing something forward like what's happened in
Ontario. Her email is education at westcoastleaf.org.
Warmly,
Laura
