Hi everyone,
I'm very excited to be in Vancouver to be facilitating these discussions.
I've already led a few workshops, and some great questions and reflections
have been raised:
- “Is this pain worth it?”
- “I think it comes out as hate, but it’s actually fear… A lot of people
are trying to protect themselves.”
- “I feel really disoriented because I feel like I have to hide parts of
myself from different people.”
- “The healing part is figuring out in all the displacement how we can find
place and hold one another.”
- "What does reconciliation look like?"
There'll be space to write and reflect, as well as dialogue with other
participants in the group. I hope these conversations will allow you to
bring all the complex pieces of yourself to the table and be open to
hearing other perspectives.
I recently performed my poem, Minority
<http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AFejUFU8sDo>, at the Vancouver Poetry Slam.
It'll give you a better idea of my story and where I'm coming from.
Please let me know if you have any questions and I look forward to meeting
you on Monday!
Cheers,
Jenna
