I think that apology is terrible. Saying that the segment was " in tremendously poor taste" feels like a euphemism for "it wasn't PC, and now ppl are mad, so we apologize." 

If they don't call it what it was - unabashed misogyny - they're not acknowledging the impact of what they said and why it's so dangerous. It's a one-off 'slip up', not a systemic problem they need to address. 

Can't help but feel like in these situations, the men involved think they're only mistake was getting caught / saying what they said on live broadcast.

A few folks are looking at formal complaints (thanks for the idea, Donna!) but given how fast things move in media/social media I think an immediate pushback is also warranted and may be successful in at least getting an apology. 

Can I ask WAM!mers to take a minute to call the two station switchboards (CKNW is 604-331-2711 and CFOX is 604-684-7221 to register a complaint? And if you're on Twitter, please also tweet to @jeffoneilshow, @chrisgailus, @sbarnesglobal, @cknw and @cfoxvan. If you feel like using the YWCA campaign hashtag #NOTokay, I'd say it would be appropriate.
