[Wamvan] Upcoming Workshop: Help Improve Media Reporting on Sexual Assault

Hi everyone,

WAM! Vancouver will be holding a public workshop on Saturday, April 26 to
collect feedback on the Femifesto toolkit to improve media reporting of
sexual assaults.

Femifesto is a Toronto-based feminist collective that is in the middle of a
year-long process of collecting feedback on their draft toolkit. The final
version, with incorporated feedback, will be used to help reporters across
Canada.

I ran a workshop on behalf of WAM! last week with the volunteers at the UBC
Sexual Assault Support Centre (SASC also very kindly helped us book the
room for the public workshop). If you want to read more about how it went

Here are the details about our public workshop.


*Where: AMS Council Chambers at the UBC Student Union Building *

*Date: Saturday, April 26*
*Time: 11:00 a.m. *

We estimate the workshop will take about two hours and *lunch will be
provided*. We also have some funding available to subsidize participants'
costs for childcare and transportation, if needed.
