Hey WAM Van Folks,
A friend of mine who is a PhD student at the UBC School of Social Work is
doing research and she's looking for some participants. Her study is called
"Processes by which Responses to Disclosures of Violence are shaped by
Relationship Context". Participants will receive $25 for participating in a
90 minute interview. Given what's been happening at UBC with the Sauder
rape chant, I think this work is especially important and it would be great
if she could get more participants.
*Further Details:*
She is looking for people who, in the past three years, were engaged in
direct support with people between the ages of 19 and 24. This could have
been volunteer work or employment, but must have involved direct support
formally (in any type of field). They must have heard from someone they
were supporting about an experience of violence they had when they were
between 19 and 24 years old. The disclosure could range from a brief
statement that was never addressed or re-visited, to the focus of ongoing
support work. The person didn't need to be supporting them around the
issues of violence, and she's looking for diversity in contexts and
experiences.

Please email disclosure_research at yahoo.com or call 604-822-5672.
Thanks!
