Hi All,

Joanne gave me your contacts so I can introduce myself and let you know
about our upcoming film project.

My name is Roberta McDonald and I am fairly new to Vancouver. I relocated
to pursue my film career more seriously and have been marveling at the
serendipity that has been consistently appearing in my life. This city
astonishes me in such a beautiful way.

The film I'm working on is called the Shame
Spiral<http://igg.me/at/shamespiral/x/81480>and it is an exploration
of one woman's struggle against shame. Both of her
own dark imagining, and that put upon her by a misogynistic stranger.

We live in confusing times. One one hand we're told our basic femininity is
not to be trusted and kept under virtuous wraps, on the other hand, we're
portrayed in alarming situations of violence and submission in the media,
film, and advertising. (Case in point: the hypocrisy on Facebook).

This story is about our need to connect, and how we punish ourselves so
mercilessly when we doubt our own impact. Life is difficult, and the Shame
Spiral is an exploration of one woman's struggle to see her own beauty and
grace.

My vision for this project is to help everyone understand how magnificent
they are. Shame not only diminishes us, but isolates us and blinds us to
our own beauty and possibility.

As of today, we have our cast and crew confirmed and we're deciding on our
location this week. The only part we're short on is our funds. I'm so
grateful Indiegogo exists in these challenging times for the film industry.

I'm reaching out the women of Vancouver for support. However that looks for
you. It could be a Tweet <https://twitter.com/unbound67>, an email forward,
a share on Facebook, or a small donation<http://igg.me/at/shamespiral/x/81480>.
We've got some delightful perks for creative people of all stripes. Every
little bit helps get us closer to our goal of telling this important story.

Thank you so much for taking the time to find out more about our project.

Sincerely,
Roberta McDonald, Director
The Shame Spiral
