Social Media Storytelling Internship with MetroVancouver 





· Are you interested in the potential of social media to communicate issues of sustainability and youth engagement? 
· Do you want to experiment with new forms of digital storytelling? 
· Would you like to make connections with other media savvy youth and professional multimedia producers and media educators? 
This summer, Metro Vancouver will host 9 youth (aged 16-24) to participate in a new social media storytelling internship . Working closely with Multimedia and Parks staff, skilled media educators and technical mentors, the interns will explore social media platforms as communication and storytelling tools while participating in exciting forums and events at several Metro Vancouver regional parks. 
The Social Media Internship team will gather for five mini production cycles and a final portfolio presentation between June and October, 2013. 
· Our first meeting is Friday June 7 th from 9:30 to 4:30. 
· Our first production cycle will be Friday June 14 th and Saturday June 15 th . Interns and their mentors will participate and document the exciting Special Parks District Forum. Events include tours of regional parks, closing banquet and keynote address by David Suzuki.
