Hey, I'm not sure how to reply all or respond entirely on this, but here's
my introduction. We'll see if it works.
Hi, I'm Megan. I was born in Winnipeg, raised in Calgary and I'm now living
in Vancouver for my 4th year. If I head any further West I'll run out of
land pretty soon! I'm just finishing up my B.A. at UBC, majoring in
Political Science and GRSJ (Gender, Race, Sexuality and Social Justice, the
new name for their Women's and Gender Studies department). I've been
interested in media, women, body image and feminism for a long
time<http://beautyvsbeast.wordpress.com/>,
although university and volunteering opportunities have really broadened my
interests. I currently volunteer with the youth social justice education
organization Check Your Head and act as co-editor-in-chief for *Ignite*,
which is GRSJ's undergraduate journal. I'm looking ahead to see how I can
keep bringing writing, education, feminism and media together as I
graduate. I've been lurking on this list since the first WAM! Vancouver
conference and I have been meaning to get out to events since then, if you
can believe it, but nothing has worked out with my schedule. After
graduation, I'm hoping my schedule becomes a little more flexible and I can
make it out to the Monday night events.
So, that's me! Hello everyone!
