[Wamvan] Sexist coverage of Steenkamp murder--discuss!

Hi everyone, 

The thing that's really bothering me about the murder coverage is that it's being treated as a tragedy that Oscar P. is enduring.  Of course none of us knows what really happened, but it seems evident that he was responsible for pulling the trigger, whether or not that was premeditated, yet the coverage seems to treat him as a victim in need of comfort.  

Also - just read on the BBC that the reality television show that Steenkamp was in will be aired as planned by the South African network.  Here's the article:

That's a great idea Jana. If someone's able to draft up a letter template I can share a list of press contacts so we can all bombard them with letters.

Is there anyway we can 'boycott' or respond to this coverage as a way

for others to respond ?   like sending a bunch of emails to the wire

service ... or  ?
