[Wamvan] Sexist coverage of Steenkamp murder--discuss!

Alessa, one of WAM! Vancouver members, posted this on her facebook, and
said it's okay for me to share her comment with you all. I'd like to hear
what other WAMmers think. Are bikini photos and characterization of
Steenkamp as a "blonde with brains" acceptable in coverage of her murder
case?

Alessa: "Hello newspapers across the globe: When a woman has been brutally
murdered by her boyfriend, DO NOT make the story about how hot she is and
then post lots of accompanying bikini photos. The story is about violence
against women, period.
It's beyond tasteless. Murder stories are not sexy."
