Hi Jessica!

I was also recently added to the list and asked to introduce myself.
I'm Heather!

I'm a writer in digital media, currently collaborating with the BC
film & television industries. I work with a variety of local producers
as well as national organizations like the CBC and NFB to tell stories
online. I have a background in digital & traditional advertising.

I've been in Vancouver for 2.5 years, and had the opportunity to
volunteer with a few great organizations. Currently, I sit on the
board for Leave Out Violence (LOVE) BC which teaches anti-oppressive
tactics and leadership skills to youth who've been affected by
violence -- largely through media arts. I occasionally do
communications work for a youth-driven organization who works with Hep
C and HIV+ youth, and I've been involved in advocacy around Insite, as
well as through a sex-worker led grassroots organization in the DTES.

I am also involved in pro-choice activism -- currently through NAF and
previously through various sexual health programs in my old home town
of Calgary. Most recently we fundraised, purchased and created a full-
page ad in the Globe & Mail commemorating the Morgentaaler decision.
Booya.

Annnyway, that's all I've got. I've loved the conversation I've seen
on this list so far and look forward to contributing. If anyone ever
needs to get in touch for any reason, please don't hesitate to reach
out.
