Megaphone is very excited to annouce that we will be starting a free weekly
writing workshop for homeless, low-income and marginalized residents in the
West End at the QMUNITY Queer Resource Centre (1170 Bute). *The workshop
will begin on Wednesday, October 24th and will be held every Wednesday from
1-2:30 p.m.*

Facilitated by award-winning queer author Alex Leslie, and in partnership
with QMUNITY, the Megaphone writing workshop will allow participants to
explore writing and find their voice. Alex can also provide insight on how
emerging authors can be published.

Participants will have the chance to submit writing for
possible publication in Megaphone, Vancouver’s award-winning street paper.

*Please note:* this workshop is an intentional space for individuals
dealing with issues of poverty, unstable housing, mental health and
homelessness. We regret that this location is not currently wheelchair
accessible.
