*PACE Society is a Vancouver based non-profit organization that is by, with
and for sex workers.  PACE promotes safer working conditions by reducing
harm and isolation through advocacy, education and support. We believe that
Sex Workers are valuable members of our community and are entitled to the
same rights as all other human beings.***

This Drop-in Coordinator position is for 24 hours per week at $16.00 per
hour. This position will be directly supervised by PACE Staff.  The
starting date for this position is confirmed for July 2012.  Please note
that this position is not a support or counselling role.
**
*Qualifications are*:
·       A good understanding of Survival Sex work and other marginalized
groups;
·       Experience working in the non-profit sector;
·       Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel;

   - A welcoming, open-minded, non-judgmental approach;
   - Have excellent verbal communication and conflict resolution skills;
   - Have an understanding of harm-reduction practices;
   - Advanced skills in setting and maintaining professional boundaries and
   the roles within a  peer-inclusive structure;

·       Experience working within an anti-oppression framework;
·       The ability to commit to work schedules;
·       The ability to organize and prioritize tasks;
·       The ability to work within  a team structure and to take initiative
when needed;
·       Awareness of appropriate resources in the community;

   - First Aid training is considered an asset;
   - Grant writing experience is considered an asset;
   - Self-care and personal wellness are mandatory in this environment.**

*Coordination duties include:*

   - Understand and uphold PACE ethics and policy guidelines;**


   - Greet and interact with members and refer them to appropriate staff
   when needed;
   - Maintain daily drop-In statistics;
   - Assist members with  telephone, computer, photo copier, etc;
   - Make and offer coffee for members;
   - Maintain clothing room and assist members with clothing;
   - Coordinate volunteer and practicum scheduling;
   - Coordinate, manage, order and maintain harm reduction, hygiene and
   housekeeping supplies for the drop-in space;
   - Coordinate and maintain drop-in space;
   - Answer the telephone and return phone calls, when appropriate;
   - Assist with printing and photocopying when needed;
   - Liaise with the City of Vancouver and Portland Hotel Society for
   building maintenance issues;
   - Submission of monthly board reports;
   - Other duties as assigned.
