Hello, ****

My name is Mohamed Algarf and I am the Editor-in-Chief and President
of *Perspectives
*Magazine. ****

Each of *Perspectives’* issues aims to construct a better understanding of
our multicultural society. Our dynamic team consists of UBC students and
graduate volunteers who are passionate about providing a medium for diverse
voices.****

*I am proud to present our Spring 2012 issue*,* with the theme of:**storytelling
.* We have many great stories to share with you! It would be great if you
could help us share these stories of some amazing individuals and
initiatives on campus. ****

You’ll learn about a fantastic story-teller. *Sarah Meli,* an international
UBC student from Malta, talks to us about how she uses her art to share her
stories. ****

We will also introduce you to the *UBC Tandem Exchange*, a program on
campus that helps people share language-learning and dialogue. ****

This issue also introduces a new regular series to profile some of the
diverse and inspirational student leaders we have on campus. We’re also
profiling the *International Student Association* to uncover the story of
how this group that advocates for international students’ issues has come
to form. ****

You can also find here the story of *Bon Vivant*, a Kitsilano Mediterranean
bistro staffed entirely by deaf employees.****

And if that’s not enough, we’ve also included a *top ten list of the most
intercultural UBC blogs*, a book and movie *reviews *and multicultural
*research
findings*! ****

You can find this online edition at the link below (please note that you
can also download it in PDF format for your convenience.) ****

****

Finally, if you have a story to tell we’d love to hear it! If you’re
passionate about story-telling, we’re also always looking for people to
join our incredible team. We also encourage submissions by creative writers
and work by local artists. Suggestions and feedback are also welcome. Feel
free to email me at editor at perspectives.ubc.ca****

Best, ****

Mohamed Algarf ****
