There's also a CBC rally today at noon on Port Coquitlam desperately
looking for more people to attend.

*Subject: **CBC NEEDS HELP at 12 NOON THURSDAY!*
Sarah - Frieda told me to call you and then send this to you. We really
need some student support!
Message:
Despite Tory election promises to protect the CBC from more cuts, the CBC
is moving closer to the chopping block under Harper. If that bothers you,
could you please help me deliver a petition of 26,000 signatures to oppose
the Harper government's planned deep cut to CBC?
We will enter the local constituency office of Tory MP James Moore. About a
dozen Tory MP ridings have been selected across the country for this
*simultaneous
action*. And since Moore is the Heritage Minister who presides over the
CBC, he is the most relevant Tory MP in the country to target.
The media has indicated they will attend. But our Facebook troops have all
bailed, leaving us with just a couple of people. To fairly show some BC
support for the CBC, *we need some bodies*! Here's the Facebook page for
the national campaign: https://www.facebook.com/events/261571657261550/
This takes place at
*12 noon SHARP on Thursday March 22*,
at *2603 Saint Johns Street, *
*Port Moody (map + directions below) *
*Here is a map. Just click 'Get Directions' to see transit or car route and
timing.*

Even after many earlier cuts to the CBC, this time the Tories want to
remove an amount to large it represents the *entire cost of running CBC
radio*. And they have been quietly organizing campaigns to end CBC funding
altogether.
So we need to act now. There is still time for the Tories to change next
week's budget cut - if people show they care about the CBC!
With hope,
Jeannie MItchell
