When I walked into the Vogue Theatre for the 20th Volume of Pecha Kucha
Night Vancouver, it was clear it was going to be a big night. This was
the Pecha
Kucha All-Stars<http://pivotlegal.us1.list-manage1.com/track/click?u=9a451e878eeec0a3e584da1a3&id=fb15fab41b&e=0de74ccece>–
a collection of 13 presenters voted back by the Pecha Kucha community
to
deliver a second serving of their inspiration. Pivot’s Katrina Pacey was
number 8 on the list.

For those of you who have not heard of Pecha

is a style of presentation created by young designers in Japan who
were
tired of boring PowerPoint presentations and wanted to share their work.
Presenters are given 6 minutes and 40 seconds to go through 20 slides
(meaning they get 20 seconds on each slide). The presentation style has
sparked an international movement of Pecha Kucha nights with shows in over
495 cities. Vancouver has a particularly successful Pecha Kucha Night. Run

the event is popular (sells out weeks in advance), fun, and engaging.

We had a solid group of Pivot staff, volunteers, and supporters filling the
front rows to watch Katrina deliver our presentation. Behind the scenes it
was a tremendous team effort, with lots of edits, feedback, ideas and
encouragement. However, when she stepped on stage Katrina delivered the
final product with strength and poise. It was amazing.

 Usually the organizers do not post the presentations online. They

the Pecha Kucha experience is fundamentally about being in the room.
However, because the 20th volume sold out so quickly (less than 24 hours!)
they wanted to share these presentations online.
