Hi everyone,

I wanted to start a new thread, since our back and forth emails tend to
turn into epic exchanges!

I originally volunteered to facilitate the meeting that Lindsay, Meenakshi
and I scheduled for Feb. 28 (which we all later cancelled). So I am happy
to facilitate tomorrow.

Proposed Agenda:

Rounds (let's keep it tight)
Values
Recognition of unceded coast salish territories
- 10 minutes total

Conference items:

1) Registration
- who has registered, what their needs/interests are, securing goals for
registration (Joanna?) (5 mins)
5 mins total

2) Food
- donations we have secured, places we are still waiting to hear from,
places still to approach (5 mins)
- budgeting out how we should spend the money we raised from the fundraiser
(the amount that's going to food) (10 mins)
- deciding what to order from Bonchaz Cafe with our $100 coupon (menu:
http://www.facebook.com/bonchaz?v=app_190322544333196) (10 mins)
25 mins total

3) Format/People
- confirm the structure of the day (panels, time frames, etc.) 10 mins
- confirm the people who have RSVPed as speakers thus far/who we have
approached/status of invitations 15 mins
- brainstorm other people we can ask 20 mins*
*PLEASE COME WITH IDEAS! :)
45 minutes total

4) miscellaneous conference items (10 mins)
10 mins total

4) Updates on other items
- SFPIRG grant opportunities (Meenakshi?) 5 mins
- possible collaborations with Girl Gang (Natalie) 5 mins
- anything else?
10-15 mins

That brings us to 1 hr 50 mins. Just enough time to set roles for the next
meeting and check out.

Please feel free to propose changes to this/add other items (we'll figure
out a way to make it work time wise).

See you all at Farida's, 6PM sharp tomorrow!

Grants

SFPIRG's Grants Committee (formerly the Donations Committee) accepts
applications for grants from student and community organizations all
year. Disbursements to successful applicants are made once at the end
of each semester (except for the Usamah Ansari Award), with the
following submission deadlines:
FALL DEADLINE October 31

SPRING DEADLINE February 28

USAMAH ANSARI AWARD April 6

SUMMER DEADLINE June 30

The Grants Committee is composed of SFPIRG board & staff members. We
operate on consensus and non-hierarchical principles in
decision-making. Applications must be related to a social or
environmental justice project/campaign. Grant requests are strictly
monetary, and can be applied retroactively (for example, if you missed
the Spring deadline and your event was in May, you can submit an
application for the Summer deadline).*
