> Hi there. I'm Marlene, an organizer of Slutwalk Vancouver 2012, a march to end victim-blaming and slut-shaming. Started in Toronto a year ago in response to a police officer's offensive and misleading comment that women can avoid being sexually assaulted by not dressing like "sluts", Vancouver held their own rally in May of last year. We'll be carrying on the tradition on Saturday, June 30th 2012, by holding another march. We are reaching out to the community to ask for donations to help support this cause. All donations will help offset the cost of holding this event.
>
> We're also inviting all media and community organizations to join us at the Vancouver Art Gallery, June 30th at 2pm, to fight against victim-blaming and slut-shaming. And please feel free to spread the word. If you have any questions, or if you'd like an interview, please contact me via email: (I'd prefer you use my hotmail account as opposed to my gmail address: marlenekomus at hotmail.com) or phone: 604-354-7636 (I just ask you not publish my real name). Thanks, take care.
