CITR 101.9FM - Upcoming WorkshopsJune Workshop Series- come one, come all!
We also accept new subject proposals, and workshop presenters on a regular
basis.
*THE WORLD OF EVENT PLANNING, STRATEGIZING, MANAGING & FUNDRAISING
Facilitator: Sterling Aurel, AMS UBC, Cystic Fibrosis Canada, Vancouver
Chapter
Tuesday, June 26 6:00-8:00PM, Room 42U
*
In this workshop we will discuss how to create events that participants
take ownership of, and how vital that is for the ongoing success of your
fundraising efforts. We will briefly touch on marketing efforts, recruiting
participants, tracking fundraising goals, setting realistic fundraising
expectations. Learn how to effectively get participants to feel like they
own the event, the importance of post event follow up, and spend a bit of
time going over the strengths and weaknesses of past fundraisers.
*SOCIAL MEDIA 101, VERSION 2.0
Facilitator: Vanessa Tam, Native Shoes, Fortune Sound Club, Catalog Gallery
Wednesday, June 27 6:00-8:00PM, Room 42U*
An exploration of expanding the CITR brand (and its many facets) through
social media- participants will learn the in’s out and out’s of Facebook,
Twitter, tumblr, Instagram and more: how to use them, and how to use them
effectively. Skills covered will include tweeting, re-posting, the
structure of tagging, and how to connect to other users, organizations and
groups through the use of tagging.
*LIVE/REMOTE BROADCASTS, SOUND & TECH
Facilitator: Andrew Longhurst, CITR
Thursday, June 28 6:00-8:00PM, CITR Lounge*
This training session will attempt to familiarize people with the gear and
procedures surrounding live broadcasts and live sound. We will look at both
portable live broadcast mixers and larger format live music mixers and
learn how these interact with microphones and feeds from other boards. We
will also look at how to record and broadcast from your laptop via
connection to the internet and how to get this signal on the air. The
majority of these skills will be transferrable to any live sound or
broadcast application, as the gear you will be using is comparable and
functionally similar to the majority of that which you would find in any
venue/broadcast location.
All workshops are free to CITR members.
If you’re not a CITR member, sign up at the workshop and the cost will be
included in your registration fee.
Space is limited- email Zoe to register!
