Hey there!
Buffie, my foster daughter started working at BWSS recently and she says she understands their policy to be inclusive of anyone who identifies as a woman.

Hi all
I believe the Vancouver Women's Health Collective also ran into trouble based on their trans policy several years ago. They operate a space at Hastings and Carrall called Lou's or something like that.

>> In terms of transphobic feminist organizations, Vancouver Rape Relief comes to the forefront. I am not sure if Battered Women Support Services is, they may be accessible for transgendered women or they may not I would look into that. WISH, WAVAW, DTES Women's Centre, Atira and PACE are all inclusive to trans women as far as I know.

>>> And can someone explain to me the current status of Bill C-389, the bill to include "gender identity" and "gender expression" as prohibited grounds of discrimination in the Human Rights Act and the Criminal Code? I haven't been able to find up-to-date information online. Has it been passed or is it stuck in the Senate or what?
>>> Alternatively, if you have any personal experiences of encountering feminist organization, groups or individuals who did not support transgender rights in any way, I'd love to hear from you. Please message me off-list.
>>> Thanks in advance!
