Dear Women's Studies Faculty,

Studio 58, the professional theatre training program at Langara College,
proudly presents a gender-bending production of JULIUS CAESAR. I thought
this show might be of particular interest to you, as Caesar, Brutus,
Cassius and Octavius are all played by women. Director Scott Bellis
discusses this non-traditional approach -****

"I am very excited about this version of JULIUS CAESAR. Our cast, which is
mostly female, is engaged in an exploration of what is required to take on
some of these traditionally male roles and bring them to life in this story
of “honourable men“. In this alternate telling, we are discovering what it
means for a male Mark Antony to avenge a female Caesar; what a same-sex
marriage looks like in the house of Brutus;  and how being a “man“ can say
more about your social status than your gender in this very different
vision of Rome.”****


We are hosting FREE student nights on Thursday, February 2nd & Friday
February 3rd @ 8pm. They are open to any student with valid ID. I encourage
you to inform your students of this rare opportunity. I have no doubt it
