In the summer of 2011, Rumana Monzur, our fellow UBC graduate student, was
brutally beaten by her husband to blindness (Google Rumana Monzur UBC). She
is back in Vancouver, she is recovering, but, unfortunately, she became
permanently blind. ****

CFIS.GSA in conjunction with several other UBC organizations are organizing
a *Rumana Monzur’s Music Fundraising Concert* (Rumana will be there!). Some
of these organizations include in Centre for Women and Genders Studies,
Political Sciences, Graduate Student Society, Department of Music…etc have
kindly donated money, performers and space, but those are not something
CFIS.GSA could help with…****

Feb 6-9 (event preparation)****
