There is a gentrification storm brewing at every edge of the Downtown
Eastside: Woodward's to the West; Gastown creeping up Carrall from the
North; at least two new condo proposals in Chinatown to the south; and not
there are three or more potential condo projects in the eastern section of
the Downtown Eastside...

And even more immediate is the emergence of exclusive restaurants,
boutiques, and art galleries that cater to high class people in the heart
of the Downtown Eastside.

Come to the first CONDO INVASION campaign meeting of the DTES Not for
Developers Coalition (formerly the Stop Pantages Condos Coalition) and:
- Watch and discuss the meanings and impacts of the "Gastown Gamble"
reality TV show on the Oprah network that celebrates notorious DTES
gentrifier Mark Brand and his Save On Meats restaurant... and
- Get an update and discuss the significance of all the proposed condo
projects that city hall is using to invade the Downtown Eastside
