Oh yes, thanks for letting us know about Tikkun and the reminder about sharing writing ideas, Jill! I'll pull a list together of publications, editor contacts and fee info, too.
Does Tikkun pay for print or online pieces, Jill?
Also forgot to mention, if you have ideas for monthly or slightly more long term member-driven actions you think WAMVan could take in the coming year, please send them to me or the listserv and I'll add them to our brainstorming list.
Ideas we had come up with at the meeting were things like organizing flash mobs, writing letters to the editor, doing media literacy workshops for youth and putting out media advisories about sexist coverage of female politicians during election time in May.
If you have any questions, let us know!

The editor-in-chief is Rabbi Michael Lerner; he has been involved in every fight for social justice for decades (civil rights, anti-Vietnam, gay rights, environmentalism, feminism etc. etc.). As he is a Rabbi, one of his pet causes is the relationship between Israel/Palestine, and his view (and that of the magazine) calls for an immediate two-state solution, along with a truth and reconciliation process amongst many other healing strategies.

Pitches do have to be quite well-formulated and have to fit somehow with Tikkun's general sensibilities, so please keep that in mind if you do think of a pitch.
