Hi all!
As I mentioned earlier, I am blogging every day during Prevention of
Violence Against Women Week April 15-21 for BWSS' campaign.
Today on Day 3, I discuss the reasons why mainstream media often cover
feminist and progressive activism poorly, and what activists and allies in
the media could do to overcome this to get their messages to the public.

Jennifer Pozner, media literacy educator and activist, and founder of Women
in Media and News provided very helpful strategies and insights for this
blog post.
Jennifer and I also talked about media literacy and violence against women
on the radio yesterday. Our segment starts around 21:00 minutes in:

Thanks for the support! These blog posts are being crossposted on
rabble.caand Gender Focus blogs.
Please let me know if you have any feedback, questions, or if you have
ideas on campaigns or resources I could highlight in my upcoming blog
posts.
