Hi all,
Thanks so much to everyone who helped suggest resources for this week's blog
campaign<http://www.bwss.org/2012/04/how-does-she-resist-prevention-of-violence-against-women-weekapril-1521-2012/>for
the Canadian feminist non-profit, Battered Women's Support Services
(BWSS).
"How Does She Resist?: Resisting Media Representations to Help End Violence
Against Women."
<http://www.bwss.org/2012/04/how-media-literacy-can-help-end-violence-against-women/>
My first post out of seven explains how getting involved with WAM! and
developing media literacy helped me overcome violence in my own life. More
posts to come will share strategies to develop media literacy, and
highlight the work of WIMN <http://www.wimnonline.org/>, feminist
bloggers, Adios
Barbie <http://www.adiosbarbie.com/>, change.org, Vancouver filmmaker
Elle-Maija
Tailfeathers <http://blogs.vancouversun.com/author/maijatf/>, women with
disabilities, and more.
Any constructive feedback or help with promo will be appreciated. On
Twitter, I'm at @joannachiu, BWSS is @EndingViolence, and the campaign is
using the hashtag #resistmedia. Link to post:

If you would join the resource-sharing and storytelling this week in the
comments sections, on your own blog, website, Tumblr, etc., that would be
great. No permission is needed to cross-post the entire blog, or to forward
this email.
Please let me know if you have any questions about this campaign or about
the work of BWSS.
Thanks again for all the community, support and inspiration,
Joanna
