Hi, Joanna, et al.,
Girl Gang is curating a panel discussion following the April 21, 4pm
screening of Miss Representation at the Projecting Change Film Festival.
The film explores mainstream media’s contribution to the
under-representation of women in influential positions by circulating
limited and often disparaging portrayals of women. It's not a far leap to
see how such portrayals contribute to rape culture as well.
I can keep you in the loop as we confirm speakers, several of whom could be
interesting interviews for you. Or would be able to connect you with others.
As well, the theatre is likely to be filled with many other great contacts,
and there'll be an opportunity after the panel to mingle and booze at W2;
this may also be a good place to network.
Just some thoughts...
Good luck! Big ups for BWSS!
Hilary
