Yup, of course. I sent this out earlier to the listserv, but here it is
again. I talked to Michele about WAM! Vancouver last year, and she was very
psyched about our work. Michele's really one of the pioneers of feminist
journalism.

Hi everyone,
Just wanted to let y'all know that WAM! Vancouver got a nice plug in
Canadian feminist journalist Michele Landsberg's new book, Writing the
Revolution.
In the book, Landsberg reflects on the 3000 columns on feminism she wrote
for the Toronto Star since 1978 and presents her analysis of trends and
developments in the Canadian women's movement. I'd highly recommend it.
What a way to learn about the history of intersections between feminist
issues and the media (the book focuses on Canadian media, which hasn't been
analyzed nearly as in depth through a feminist lens as American media):

WAM! Vancouver got a mention on p. 37. Quoted with some context here:
"Preparing this book, I began to keep track of feminist-focused activism
wherever I could find it, especially among the young. My findings were
amazing. Canada is buzzing with youthful feminist activism, now that a
decade of conservative values has eroded our gains....In Toronto...In
Quebec...In Vancouver, the dynamic WAM! (Women and Media) [sic] conference
met for the first time in 2011, exploring and challenging the role,
portrayal and career possibilities of women in the media."
