To: cr-programmers at coopradio.org
Co-op Radio, CFRO, 102.7FM is looking for someone who is energetic,
skilled, organized and highly motivated to co-ordinate our Fall Member Drive
(October 14 - 28).
Vancouver Co-operative Radio, CFRO, 102.7 FM is a non-commercial,
co-operatively owned, listener-supported, community radio station. Co-op
Radio aims to increase community participation by empowering people from
traditionally marginalized communities with the tools to actively
participate in the production of radio.
Twice a year, Co-op Radio programmers produce 2-weeks of special programming
to entice our listeners to support the station by taking out or renewing
their membership with the station. The funding received from members is an
essential part of the station’s operating budget and is a vital part of
keeping Co-op Radio alive. The Member Drive Co-ordinator will be
responsible for organizing all details related to the fundraising drive. The
Co-ordinator will have the support of station staff but must be able to work
independently.
*Duties will include:*

co-ordinating and implementing the mailout to members (to be completed by
Sept. 30)
- Encouraging programmers to participate in fundraising by creating
and distributing member lists for each program
- Promoting the Member Drive to our listeners by co-ordinating the
creation of promos (PRAs)
- Ensuring that all programmers have the tools necessary to take
member pledges by setting up and maintaining Member Drive supplies
throughout the drive
- Co-ordinating volunteers
- Doing data entry
- …and other related tasks as needed
*Preferred qualifications:*
- Strong communication skills – both verbal and written
- Keen attention to detail
- Ability to learn new skills and systems quickly and accurately
- Ability to work independently on a project and see it to
completion
- Experience with MS Access databases
*Honorarium:*
The Co-ordinator will receive $2000 for the project which will run from
Sept. 26 – Nov. 4 and consist of approximately 100 hours of work within a
flexible schedule.
To apply, please send your resume and a brief letter outlining why you would
make an effective Member Drive Co-ordinator. All applications must be sent
to: cfro-hiring at coopradio.org
