*On September 24, 2011 at 10:30 am join us in the Downtown Eastside for our
4th city-wide Smudge Ceremony.  **A Smudge Ceremony is a traditional
Aboriginal practice, at which we will praying for our Mother the Earth and
to end violence against Women.*

*WAVAW invites everyone from all faith communities, races, ethnicities,
cultures and neighborhoods to participate or witness in the Smudge Ceremony.
The ceremony will be conducted by 40 Ceremonial Elders and Spiritual
Advisors, alongside the Four Sacred Races from around the world.*

*Please present yourself at one of the following meeting places:*

*East - Princess and Hastings St.*

*South - Union and Main St.*

*West - Carrol and Hastings St.*

*North - Alexander and Main St.*

*We will then all walk pray and Smudge the DTES until we meet at the corners
of Hastings and Main and proceed with Ceremony.*

*Please bring snacks, lawn chairs and beverages.*
