1) Pirate Radio 101 Workshop
Date: Monday September 19, 2011
Time: 1- 3:30 PM
Place: Halpern Centre 114

Get your hands dirty building a pirate radio transmitter! This workshop will
teach participants to the basics of soldering together a radio transmitter.
It will also discuss the history of pirate radio in the United States, and
examine its use in revolutionary movements, activist movements at home, and
anti-mining struggles in Central America. Space is limited. Email

CJSF.

2) Demystify your bike! The Basics of Bike Maintenance
Date: Tuesday September 20th, 2011
Time: 1- 2 PM
Place: Convocation Mall, SFU Burnaby Campus

Take the Mystery out of your bicycle with this interactive workshop! Bring
your bike and we'll show you how to do a basic inspection to make sure its
in good running order. You'll learn how to:
• clean and oil your bike
• adjust your brakes and gears
• check your wheels and tires
• decide when its a good idea to take your bike to the shop
• and other tips to make your riding experience more enjoyable

Date: Every Tuesday, starting September 20th, 2011
Time: 10:30am – 2:30pm
Place: SFPIRG, TC326 in the Rotunda, SFU Burnaby Campus

Free Coffee (and tea too!) every Tuesday starting Sept 20th in the SFPIRG
lounge, TC326, in the Rotunda. The coffee is organic and direct fair trade.
Bring your own mug. A great opportunity to learn more about SFPIRG and what

activism but open to many issues beyond!  Share your experiences and
stories, ask questions, seek and give advice, connect with others and gain
inspiration and momentum for campaigns and projects!  Presented by SFPIRG’s
Ancient Forest Action Group in collaboration with Sustainable SFU and

The Urban Agricultural Skills Training Program is a workshop series designed
to equip SFU students and community members with the skills to produce,
preserve, nurture, and prepare their own food. Participants will also engage
in discussions of our food systems both locally and globally and gain tools
to create change in their own lives and communities. Join us for these

This is a FREE program for immigrant and refugee youth. Lunch, bus passes,
and honoraria will be provided. A certificate of completion and a letter of
