Next week’s CFLS speaker will be *Sharon McIvor*, giving a talk titled
“Equality Rights and Aboriginal Women: *McIvor v Canada* and Beyond”. Sharon
McIvor will speak about *McIvor v Canada*, the section 15 Charter challenge
to the status registration provisions of the Indian Act, as well as other
efforts to invoke equality rights for Aboriginal women. The two BC decisions
in *McIvor *can be found at: 2007 BCSC 827 and 2009 BCCA 153.****
