I too was really impressed that she was willing to share something so
intensely specific and personal. I think this is something so specific that
I have no idea what to make of it except it works for her, she is doing this
in a safe way, and it's not hurting anyone else. A comment posted by a
spouse of a veteran alluded to the effect his military involvement had on
their sexual relationship as well, not enough to draw any conclusion about
whether or not it was therapeutic but enough to make me think that if
something is manifesting itself so completely into your life, the way she
has found to redirect and reclaim that trauma and make it into a good thing
is admirable. I also agree that this is a big eye opener for me personally
considering the PTSD reporters face. If she was willing to share a path to
healing that may seem very unexpected and extreme to us it seems to open the
door pretty wide for others to share their experiences and what they've done
to cope.
