Cool!
Can we apply for more than one research project? I would really like to work towards developing some sort of resource that would give people stronger science literacy skills so that they could spot when statistics and studies were being used in manipulative ways in the media - some research assistance on that would be fabulous.

Dude, should we apply for this? A research project for WAM could fall under the "media analysis research" category.
If you agree that we should apply, I can start working on the application.

Hey everyone,
If you guys know any marginalized, grassroots commmunity groups, please pass this on to them!

SFPIRG Action Research eXchange: put the world of academia to work for you!
Are you a local non-profit or grassroots community organization with no time or money for research? The Action Research eXchange (ARX) facilitates community research by allowing community groups to design projects for interested SFU students to complete as part of their coursework. An SFU student can help make your organization’s social or environmental justice project a reality!
Submit project proposals online at www.sfpirg.ca/arx/apply/. The deadline for the fall 2011 semester is July 18, 2011. Proposals are accepted throughout the year.
Priority will be given to grassroots organizations working on the following topics: international solidarity, anti-war/anti-imperialism, labour, media analysis research, queer studies, seniors’ issues, housing, immigrant/refugees, ethnicity/race studies, education, Indigenous rights, disability issues, and social justice/human rights.
Check out www.sfpirg.ca/arx or contact arx.outreach at sfpirg.ca for more information!
