Please take a look at this volunteer opportunity which encompasses a couple
of fund raising events for the Fall and please feel to share it with your

*AIDS Vancouver Special Events Committee*

** **

*Objective*: To assist the Special Events Auction Coordinator with securing
Live and silent auction donations and coordinating logistics for the
Celebrity Dim Sum Silent and Live auctions in the Fall. ****

** **

*Commitment*: Commitment will require committee meeting every three weeks
starting in July to October/November. Training will be provided and
volunteer hours will vary week to week depending on task needs. Self
determined volunteer hours in consultation with the Special Events Auction
Coordinator. Two event dates requiring commitment: October 1st and November
30th. Must be available for one, preferably both of these event dates. ****

*Skills**:* ****

**·         **Ability to take direction ****

**·         **Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in
writing; ****

**·         **Ability to be detail orientated and creative ****

**·         **Ability to effectively communicate with and coordinate
volunteers ****

**·         **Ability to work both independently and in cooperation with
others; ****

**·         **Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize; ****

**·         **Background in event planning or volunteering at events ****

*Duties***

**·         **Ability to proactively network and promote AIDS Vancouver’s
Celebrity Dim Sum event and Red Ribbon Gala for AIDS Vancouver’s fundraising
activities. ****

**·         **Understand all logistics from start to finish; including roles
and timing for each volunteer and key players to ensure all coordination is
ready and met for a smooth event. Other duties as required ****
