Position: Director of Operations, Vancouver
Status: Full-time
Hours: 36 -hour workweek
Salary: Leading in the Non-Profit sector
Location: Vancouver

Job summary:
As a Director, you will become part of a passionately dedicated and
skilled group of women who provide an accountable and professional yet
politically driven service to women and children affected by violence.
You will help lead a dynamic and progressive organization that acts as
a change agent ensuring a higher level of integrity, accountability
and service in the community social services field.
Responsibilities:
To supervise staff in the assigned responsibility area;
To Develop and recommend long-range plans and objectives in assigned
responsibility area;
To Ensure effective program/service delivery consistent with Atira's
mandate, philosophy, policies, legal, contractual, budgetary and other
requirements;
To keeping up to date with all relevant changes in the sector and
the community;
To liaise with contractors and contract managers
To prepare proposals for new programs,
To organize and facilitate staff training & activities
Responsible for the programs in your assigned responsibility area
when the program managers are away
on-call duties
attending community meetings and fundraising events as appropriate/requested;
other diverse tasks that may arise from time to time and which are
directly related to Atira's mandate

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

A proven ability to supervise staff and delegate work appropriately/effectively.
Advanced computer skills.
Leadership skills
Flexibility
Time management skills Supervision and scheduling
Ability to give & receive constructive criticism

Ability to work independently
Training/workshop delivery
Education
Relevant post-secondary education and a minimum of three years
experience in program development & management. Experience working
with women who are marginalized by their experience of violence,
abuse, substance use, work in the sex trade, mental illness, racism,
poverty and other forms of oppression. Women who do not have
post-secondary credentials but an equivalent combination of training
and experience will also be considered.
Additional Requisites:
• All positions are subject to a criminal records investigation.
• Must have a driver's license and access to a vehicle while on shift.
