No problem! It's nice that we have such widespread support from feminists living in Eastern Canada and in the US.
What was the other book you read, Frieda?

I'd highly recommend it. What a way to learn about the history of intersections between feminist issues and the media (the book focuses on Canadian media, which hasn't been analyzed nearly as in depth through a feminist lens as American media): http://secondstorypress.ca/books/228-writing-the-revolution

Canada is buzzing with youthful feminist activism, now that a decade of conservative values has eroded our gains....In Toronto...In Quebec...In Vancouver, the dynamic WAM! (Women and Media) [sic] conference met for the first time in 2011, exploring and challenging the role, portrayal and career possibilities of women in the media."

Vancouver is gearing up for our second annual conference, with the theme of "Uprising" on the intersections between social justice movements, global revolutions, feminism and the media. The conference will take place in late March. Stay tuned for more details or contact us at wamvancouver at gmail.com if you can offer your support in any way. We'd love to find ways to collaborate with other WAM! members and chapters in the new year.
