Hi Dharra!
Thanks so much for telling us about yourself! It definitely seems like
you've kept yourself busy! It's so nice to be able to connect after the
conference since I don't think I really got to talk to you yet.
We're actually not all journalists, although a lot of us *are *interested in
producing media or supporting progressive media. We also have quite a few
community educators on this list (doing anti-oppression workshops, sexual
health workshops, high school outreach, etc.). You can read all of the
organizers' bios here: http://wamvancouver.wordpress.com/
This listserv is here to support you no matter what you want to bring to the
community. If you want to pitch article ideas to us to get feedback before
you approach a publication, we can help. And if you want to bring up
non-journalism related topics, that's wonderful, too!
I've personally had quite a bit of experience in student journalism (at The
Ubyssey) so I'd love to talk about how to get into student journalism. Feel
free to message me off-list, too!
Thanks again and looking forward to seeing you at a future event or social,
Joanna
