Subject: BCC3 Study on Women's Healthy Aging
To: vivawomen at gmail.com <vivawomen at gmail.com>
Hello,
I hope you’re doing well! I am reaching out to you with regards to a study
on women’s healthy aging. The British Columbia CARMA-CHIWOS Collaboration
(BCC3) study is currently recruiting those who identify as women (cis- and
trans-women inclusive) over the age of 16 to participate and would greatly
appreciate your support with recruitment.
The goal of the BCC3 study is to better understand the complexity of the
cellular, clinical, and social factors involved in women’s healthy aging,
such as viral infections (HIV, hepatitis C, and herpes), hormones
(estrogen, progesterone, and cortisol), multiple chronic diagnoses, and
personal life experiences, including adverse childhood experiences, sexual
health, stigma, violence, social support, and resilience. To do this, we
want to recruit 350 women living with HIV and 350 women not living with HIV
to participate.
Participation involves two study visits, one in person including sample
collection and a survey, and the second over the phone/zoom including a
second survey. A total of $90 honoraria is provided as a thank-you for
participants’ time. Currently visits take place at BC Women’s Hospital,
however we also are planning week-long recruitment drives in Victoria,
Prince George, and Kelowna for sometime this summer.
For more information, you can also check out our website at www.hivhearme.ca
and our video that explains the study and participation at

Please let me know if ViVA would be able to assist us with spreading the
word by posting our posters up in your space, on your social media, in a
newsletter, or in an email to your members/community. Please see attached
for our poster and flyer.
Thank you for taking the time to read our request, please let me know if
you have any questions at all! I would be more than happy to discuss either
via email at amber.campbell at cw.bc.ca or 604-868-5075.
Sincerely,
Amber
