Hi Dear friends,
This is the day that is a holiday — a day to mourn so many Indigenous losses of human lives, especially women and children, or celebrate Canada Day.
I know that we all have health concerns and moments where we feel better than others. I just want to let you now that our dear Romari is still struggling. If you have a few minutes to sit quietly and send her peaceful loving thoughts, I am sure that will help her. Ironically, I find it also makes me feels calmer and more aware. I don’t know her room number but if anyone is able to and wants to visit her, I am sure a visit on a long weekend would be appreciated. The music therapist at Holy family says that she is not able to communicate very clearly again, but just talking to her seems soothing. She cannot answer the phone or move very much so is entirely dependant on others for her wellbeing.
And if this is a hard day for you, a difficult time, I also send love and peace to you. We are all whole somewhere, but at times there are too many things that pull us apart.
Thank you to this supportive network of women. Love-peg
I am privileged and honoured to be writing to you from sxʷeŋxʷəŋ təŋəxʷ - pronounced s-hweng hw-ung tongue-oo-hw, - the Lekwungen name for James Bay.
