[Viva] Candles and Light

Thoughtful and sombre World AIDS Day to you my gigi family. We are here! And that in itself is amazing.

I have a candle burning — a flame that crosses the division between the here and now and the hereafter. I remember our friends who have left us.

I want to let you know that I appreciate and love you. It has been a tad too hectic this past year, but that does not take away from the love that I feel for this circle of friends and fellow world walkers. 

Each day is unique and that brings me some feeling of hope when I am feeling low. I have survived a journey that looks difficult if you leave out the support that I have received along the way. 

Each of us has had our own challenges and each of is has been and is amazing — still standing — still willing to fight if that is what seems needed and still supporting others in the community. 

Today I am reflecting on those I learned from and loved who are no longer here. And those that I learn from and love who are still here.
