Thank you for being a part of the ICW Family !

A warm welcome to all the new members who have joined us through the
various platforms & programs including the Milky Moovement & Healing
Together. Like many other organizations ICWNA was impacted by Covid19
Pandemic: we grieved with our members who lost loved ones; we networked
with other organization to galvanize support for those who struggled, and
are still struggling with economic hardship. Operationally & financially we
had to make many adjustments, whilst trying to stay in line with our
strategic objectives . Due to the resilience and positive attitudes of the
ICWNA Board and team, we still managed to meet our goals. We appreciate
your support and sisterhood during these times AND we continue to strive
together!

Catching Up with ICWNA Co-Chair

A very WARM welcome to Spring and a season of new beginnings. As the world
recovers for the impact of a global pandemic, ICWNA is gearing up for a
year of healing, growth and strengthening. We thank you for your continued
support as we grow together as a family.

impacting their lives through capacity building: this allows ICWNA to show
up for the community and build resiliency” Kneeshe Parkinson.

What has ICWNA been up to?

We have been busy firming our roots, by grounding our team and our members
in healthy learning and development. Between 2019 and 2021 ICWNA was part
of the ICW Consortium, which received Core Funding from the Robert Carr
Fund for which we are grateful for; THANK YOU!

Through this Core Funding, ICWNA was able to strengthen our Board, Fiscal
and Operational Infrastructure. We also used the opportunity to build and
operationalize our fundraising strategy, which led to several other funding
opportunities including the AIDS United Positive organizing Project, ViiV
Healthcare and Gilead.

strategy is designed to guide ICW-NA through its next stage of growth. To
facilitate growth, the ICWNA Board of Directors built their capacity in
different skills trainings such as, strategic leadership, risk management,
diversity and inclusion, fiscal management, and fundraising. In addition,
collaboratively with various stakeholders we trained in Greater/Meaningful
Involvement of People living with HIV (GIPA/MIPA) principles and
transgender advocacy. The work of board strengthening is on-going.

We strengthened our communications capacity by contracting various
communications specialists to support web design, social media and the
overall implementation of our communications Plan. This allowed us to pivot
more effectively to conduct our work virtually due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

AIDSWatch planning meetings. On an international scale, ICW-NA works with
the Global International Community of Women Living with HIV (ICW),
supporting program coordination, governance reform, communications, and
advocacy.

Healing Together: HIV & Trauma

Finally, one of ICWNA strategic objectives is to build and activate a
robust membership. Through the website and social media platforms that were
developed, we grew our membership and maintained connections. The pandemic
has been a difficult and re-traumatizing time for many WLWH. ICW-NA stepped
in and provided COVID 19 relief & support for individuals who had nowhere
else to turn. In addition, one of the most impactful interventions that
ICWNA undertook was to work collaboratively with other ICW networks to
address the impact of trauma on women living with HIV.

Throughout 2021 we collaborated with ICW- Caribbean (ICWCarib

to host “Healing Together: HIV and Trauma” which is an adaptation of Common
Threads. This intervention launched virtual support groups for WLHIV and
then led to the development of trauma-informed programming that has become
ICWNA signature intervention for 2020.

In 2022, we will continue to implement ‘Healing Together, an integrated HIV
trauma-informed, stigma-reduction intervention that enhances the ability of
WLWH to powerfully share their lived experiences with each other and
audiences whom they chose.
