This is Junko, Peer Navigator with AIDS Vancouver.



I recently started my full time position as a Peer Navigator at AIDS
Vancouver. I do outreach for women both cis and trans living with HIV, and
also facilitate a Women’s Support Group once a month on the 4th floor at
AIDS Vancouver.

There are 2 other female part time Peer Navigators at AV, Valerie Nicholson
and Roberta Vezina.

If you have clients at Oak Tree Clinic who need support from Peer
Navigators, Please let me know by Phone or email. We are happy to support
them. We can come to Oak Tree Clinic for accompaniment, bring them to any
other appointments, and give them emotional support and connection.

I would appreciate if you can promote Women’s Support Group at AV. It
happens on every Wednesday of the month from 2-4pm. We provide safe space
for women both cis and trans to connect, socialize, be heard, and
supported. It’s a drop in style, so they don’t have to stay for the whole 2
hours. Coffee and snacks are provided, and they can get their nails done by
me and be pampered. The goal of this group is to break isolation and to
provide safety, connection, support, and empowerment.

I am attaching the poster of the group, so you can put it up at your clinic.



Please share this email with your Social Workers and nurses as we would be
happy to support and navigate your clients. If you have women’ group at
your clinic, please let me know. I would like to promote your group also.
