Good morning,

I hope you are all doing well! I wanted to share a research
opportunity, *People
with Lived Experiences’ Strengths in the Face of Stigma. *This is a
virtual, qualitative study, and is open to anyone living with HIV in
British Columbia, who are over the age of 19, and speak English.

More information is below, and in the attached poster. Please feel free to
circulate to anyone who may be interested.

Have a great weekend!

Cheers,

Dear contacts and member organizations,

As some of you may know, Island Health, the Pacific AIDS Network, and the
University of Victoria are conducting a community-based research study
entitled *People With Lived Experiences’ Strengths in the Face of
Stigma*. *People
With Lived Experiences’ Strengths in the Face of Stigma *is a qualitative
study, exploring strengths and resilience of people living with HIV in
combatting stigma, experiences of stigma, and experiences of programs and
services.

We are currently recruiting people living with HIV who are 19 years of age
or older, speak English, and are living in BC to participate in interviews
for the study.

We would particularly like to talk to people who

-          identify as a member of an Indigenous group;

- as gay, bisexual, or a man who has sex with men and live outside
of Vancouver;

- as a person who uses drugs, and/or

- as transgender or as a person of trans experience.

This is to make sure we hear from a diverse group of people and include
voices that are not always represented in research.

Participants who are deemed eligible to participate in the study will be
offered a $40 Visa gift card as compensation for participating.
Participation will involve an interview by phone, lasting approximately 1
to 1.5 hours. The interview will involve a range of questions about
personal strengths, experiences of stigma, and experiences of programs and
services.

Please find a poster attached with more information and contact information
about the study. We would also appreciate it if you could forward this
information/email and the attached poster to your contacts, colleagues and
related service users in your region. In providing information to potential
participants, we do ask that you provide the attached information and
poster, including the contact information for the Project Coordinators, but
once you have provided the information about the study, please do not ask
potential participants again if they choose to participate.

Thank you for your time and assistance. If you would like more information
on * People With Lived Experiences’ Strengths in the Face of Stigma*,
please contact the Project Coordinators at 1-844-584-9346 or
study at pacificaidsnetwork.org

Best regards,

The *People With Lived Experiences’ Strengths in the Face of Stigma*
community-based research team

*This study is funded by the CIHR Centre for REACH in HIV/AIDS*
